As
2013 begins I have been challenged to choose ONE WORD to focus on this year.
The word that came to mind over and over was EXAMPLE. Seems so strange…why didn’t
I pick love or kindness? Why EXAMPLE?
I
have 5 sweet children the Lord has entrusted to me, and as much as I wish they
only saw me at my best I know this is not a reality. Sadly, whether my EXAMPLE
is good or bad my children see it, hear it and feel it. For this reason I have
been convicted in my need to be diligent to pay attention to my EXAMPLE.
I
have also realized a need to be aware of what EXAMPLES I am giving my time and
attention to. Are my friendships beneficial EXAMPLES? Am I watching and reading
things that are profitable EXAMPLES? Am I seeking to follow the ultimate
EXAMPLE, Jesus Christ, with my whole-heart? These were convicting questions. So
now, am I brave enough to walk this path with honesty?
